Animal Health Award

This award is in a challenging area that may include animal and veterinary research, regional economic development, animal and pet care and of interest to such groups as the RSPCA, CSIRO, Primary Industry Research and Veterinary practices. 

 

Biotechnology Award

This is a category that covers a range of biotechnology research including: the application of biotechnology to biomedicine, aquaculture, agriculture, human health and the environment. 

 

Health & Lifestyle Award

This is a very broad category that includes a wide range of research activities, community project work relating to population health in general such as work-life balance, employer innovation, leisure, recreation and sport, health promotion, community revitalisation, social, ethnic and disability disadvantage, lifestyle, lifelong learning, the arts, theatre and culture. 

 

Early Researcher Award

This award provides an opportunity for PhD researchers and Post Doctoral researchers (within 3 years of their first post doctoral position) to be recognised for significant recent research contributions in their field.  Please note this category has an extra requirement in the application form.

 

Smart Technology Award

This award includes research into new and developing technology and improving processes that includes application of advanced materials, design/design improvement, Information Technology, manufacturing process improvement and the application of convergent technologies. 

 

Teaching & Learning Award

This award was designed to showcase significant innovation with a view to or resulting in improved student learning outcomes. It includes research, trial or community projects undertaken by a teaching facility, a school, a cluster, a network or regional level research and could include curriculum development, student leadership, community engagement, student well-being, professional learning or any aspect of facility or school improvement that has a research component. 

 

Save the Planet Award

This award covers a comprehensive area of great public interest and could include research, trial or community projects related to water, carbon emissions, building and buildings, environmental design, environmental management, biodiversity (pests, plants and animals and vegetation), healthy cities, sustainable communities, culture, arts and heritage.

 

Living with a Disability Award

Many people within our community are living with a wide range of disabilities that can vary in severity. This award will focus on the wide range of research and project activity that aim to improve health outcomes and independence for people living with a disability.
